Empowering Youth Through Vocational Training

ACFAL  was designed to cater for the vulnerable youth and children including; youth with disabilities, orphans, needy, street kids and young girls whose rights have been abused by being forced into early marriage due to their parents’ failure to support them in education.

Enabling the Youth to exhibit full use of human resources and skills and become agents of desirable change in the society rather than passive recipients in development.

TARGET GROUP

For every academic year, statistics show that every 100 children who enroll in primary one under the Universal Primary Education Program, Only 39 of them manage to reach primary 5, of these, 19 are girls and 20 are boys. These pupils normally drop out of school with no help and hope to continue with their education. Some of these children have ended up on streets looking for petty jobs, others especially girls have been married off at an early age. Our target here is mainly to engage this group of youth to become agents of change in the society.

For girls in the communities where we work the struggle of not having sanitary towels is very real. Girls who are unable to afford sanitary towels often resort to using unhygienic materials like tissue paper and pieces of rags.

Some girls also stay home from school during their menses. This affects their education negatively.

ACallForAll works with youth in

informal settlements and addresses the structural drivers that directly and indirectly increases their vulnerability including poverty, gender inequality, sexual violence, and a lack of education. At ACallForAll, youth have a safe space where they can receive the following trainings:

  1. Hair and Beauty Training
  2. Fashion and Design Training
  3. Digital literacy

PROJECT GOAL

The main goal of this project is to restore hope and a bright future of our youth by creating a wide and open opportunity to strengthen their awareness of their own potential power through small scale business and support them in Education to spawn and promote their lives.

Youth in Uganda face many challenges. At the heart of these challenges is poverty that makes them vulnerable to involvement in risky behavior, cutting short their potential, dreams and lives.
